New (and improved) Dashboard

Finally, blogger.com gets an overhaul with its re-defined dashboard and post editor. Google announced its upcoming new features for blogger yesterday with a wide variety of improvements.which will be more comfortable and convenient for blogger users.

Google says that 2010 was the biggest year for blogger which introduced template designer, real-time stats, comment spam filtering, mobile templates, web fonts and were rated the most reliable blogging service of all time. Google promises that 2011 will be another exciting year for Blogger.com. Let’s have a sneak peak to bloggers upcoming features in 2011.

Google will also release a content discovery tool, which will determine the content of the Blogger page you’re reading and suggest related content you might like to read..

Check out Blogger’s promotional video to see examples of some of the new features in action.

Google has not yet specified a date for rolling out these features. The updates will be rolled out one by one. As they have said, they have got more to reveal yet. Hope the feature includes an upgrade to improved commenting system. What do you think, what features would you like to see in Blogger 2011??? Till then, keep on blogging!!!

Content Discovery

Another much anticipated feature, Blogger’s content discovery feature will help readers find content related to your blog posts while viewing pages of your site. Including posts from our blogs, real-time content from around the web and a snazzy trends/topics section, related content looks set to work from within the Blogger Navbar, replacing the “Next Blog” random link (which for many will prove a far more useful feature):

More than this…?
Yet more updates and new features will be released in 2011 (and beyond!) though as yet the Blogger Team remain tight lipped as to what these will be.

Mobile templates look set for improvement (as hinted in the video below) and perhaps we’ll see more highly requested updates and improvements too. Of course I’ll let Blogger Buster readers know about these forthcoming updates as soon as I’m able so be sure to subscribe to stay up to date on what’s new with Blogger!

In the meantime, take a look at what the Blogger team have developed over the past few years and enjoy your sneak peek at the features I’ve described so far.

Update- Luckily we are among few who got the new Blogger interface, However It is very important to highlight that blogger has removed the EDIT HTML feature, so now if you have to modify the HTML of your template, you first need to download your template and then upload it back with modified template.
For making minor changes to template that consumes time and is less convenient too, since Blogger team is still working on the new version. We have updated them with our feedback.
